Teriz is a bilingual and culturally competent Licensed Social Worker in NJ. She received her MSW degree from Rutgers University and a BFA from the School of Visual Arts. Teriz previously worked with diverse young adults in IOP at Rutgers UBHC, providing trauma-informed care.
Teriz completed extensive training in Solution-Focused Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and uses an integrative, psychodynamic therapeutic approach customized for each person’s learning style and personality. Due to working in an intensive outpatient setting, Teriz has skillfully treated people with a variety of issues and co-occurring disorders. However, she especially enjoys helping neurodiverse college students and young professionals, people with anxiety disorders, and individuals going through life transitions.
Within an authentic and collaborative therapeutic relationship, Teriz loves to know her clients deeply and appreciates the nuances of how each person is fearfully and wonderfully created by God.
Although Teriz has had many roles within professional and church communities in NJ and in Egypt, she is most proud of simply being a child of God. She has been married to her husband for 20 years, and they have two children and a cat named Sunshine. She loves the Bible and enjoys learning, laughing, kayaking, walking, reading, playing board games, photography, painting, writing, gardening, hot weather, hot drinks, and taking power naps.
