Rae Barnes

COUNSELING INTERN

Rae earned her B.A. in Applied Art from Converse University. After working as a professional photographer for over twenty years, Rae decided to return to school to pursue a career in counseling. She is currently a counseling intern working toward her Master's in Clinical Counseling Psychology with a focus on Trauma Studies at Eastern University.

Rae's trauma-informed clinical training has taught her to compassionately focus on the client, ensuring they feel heard and empowered to recognize their strengths and identify problematic thought patterns. She is interested in working with young adults, couples, and families as they navigate grief, loss, stress management, life changes, and other challenges.

Rae publicly declared her faith at age 11. Since then, she has volunteered for various ministries, including Young Life, GROW (ESL in Philadelphia), and women's ministries at her church. Rae has been married for over 20 years, has four kids, and two dogs. She enjoys spending time with her family, walking her dogs, hiking, reading, and discovering new things that make her laugh.
